Tips for Making a Movie on Your iPhone

Making a quality movie on your cellular phone used to be pretty much unheard of, but not anymore. If you happen to be one of the millions of people with an iPhone, you have the ability to make a movie right from this innovative device. From the iPhone 4’s two cameras to the endless available apps, making a movie has never been easier. The following tips will give you some advice for making a movie on your iPhone.

Understanding Your Device

Before you get started making a movie on your iPhone, you should take a minute to understand your device and what features you will be utilizing. First of all, the iPhone has two cameras that make it easy to shoot still photos and videos of others and yourself. You should know that while both cameras have the ability to shoot video at 30 frames per second, that is where their similarities end. The rear-facing camera will definitely be the camera you want to use when making a movie, since it has the ability to record in high-definition at 720p. This means the quality of your movie will be pretty exceptional, being as your phone is acting as your video camera. The front-facing camera is limited to shooting VGA-quality video, which will not produce results as impressive as the rear-facing camera. It is very simple to shoot a video from your iPhone. All you have to do is open the built-in camera app, make sure it is set to video, tap the screen as you would to take a still photo, and start shooting.

Recording Movies

Even though recording a movie on your iPhone is fairly straightforward, there are some things to keep in mind. You will probably want to hold your iPhone in a horizontal position, as it will make the process easier and produce more “movie-like” results. Also be sure to keep your movie subjects and background well lit. If you happen to be recording at night, you can always use your camera’s flash as a light. To focus clearly on your subjects and background, always tap your screen until both are clear and ready to be recorded. After recording, you can review your movie by clicking on the video thumbnail on your iPhone’s screen. From there you can choose to continue recording, edit your movie, or publish it.

Editing Movies

Once you are finished recording your movie, you will be able to edit it using some fabulous apps. That is, of course, what the iPhone is all about. While there are various movie-editing apps available, one that offers ease of use for beginners is iMovie. Since it comes from Apple itself, you will not have to worry about any compatibility issues whatsoever. iMovie allows you to drag and drop the clips from your movie until they are exactly where you want them to be. It also gives you the ability to add certain effects and transitions to your movie. For more advanced video editors, there are many other editing apps for your iPhone such as Splice and Video Edit. After your movie is complete and edited to your specifications, you can choose to send it to others or upload it to your favorite social network.
Making a movie on your iPhone is really not as difficult as you may think. Given the advanced features of the iPhone and countless helpful apps, you can easily make a movie in no time at all.

'Skyfall' review: This Bond's sexy, crazy and cool

How does James Bond remain relevant in the 21st century? It’s a question on the lips of many of the franchise’s sceptics as the Cold War spy reaches a landmark 50th anniversary, but it’s one that also forms an integral part of his newest adventure Skyfall.

The film, directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes, relocates Bond (Daniel Craig) into the digital age. The espionage he once knew – the guns, the lifestyle and the gadgets – is beginning to disappear with MI6 fighting a new kind of war; one where field agents are largely unnecessary and battles are now won with intelligence.

Therefore, after an assignment to retrieve a list of MI6 agents goes wrong and Bond is believed to be deceased, he decides it’s best to let his superiors assume he was killed in action. He retreats into the shadows and chooses to live out the remainder of his existence in a solitude of alcohol and substance abuse. But when the kidnapper of the list, cyber-terrorist Silva (Javier Bardem), launches an attack on his former base of operations with M (Judi Dench) as the intended target, Bond returns home to fight this new kind of evil and prove he’s still capable of defending his country.

Skyfall is a spy thriller for our times. In much the same way that Christopher Nolan transferred Batman into a post-9/11 environment with his The Dark Knight films, Sam Mendes turns the 23rd Bond adventure into an allegory of modern Britain with undertones of 7/7. Befittingly, Mendes and master cinematographer Roger Deakins capture the film in a slick, contemporary fashion that is often outstandingly beautiful to behold. A silhouetted fight sequence set against the neon-lit backdrop of Shanghai is simply Oscar worthy.

But while Sam Mendes’s story of a James Bond trying to prove his worth in what he calls “a brave new world” is certainly a make-over for the franchise, Skyfall’s just as much a celebration of the agent’s last 50 years of cinematic escapades. He finds a perfect balance between the realism of 21st century espionage and the traits we’ve grown to love and cherish from the character: quick-witted quips, stunning set pieces and stunt work so mesmerising it’ll leave you in awe. Devotees to the classic 007 films need not worry either; finding the sly references to previous outings is part of Skyfall’s enjoyment.

Daniel Craig is the best he’s been since he donned the suit back in 2006 and his performance is quite possibly the finest take on James Bond yet. He shines in both Skyfall’s light-hearted moments of dry comedy and smooth talk, but it’s when the film descends into dark territory that we truly witness his brilliance. Previous films have briefly touched on Bond’s tragic past and it becomes a major part of Skyfall as we reach the nail-biting conclusion. Craig explores this tortured side of the hero with aplomb, bringing a depth to 007 that many may have thought impossible.

It’s Dame Judi Dench, however, who steals the show. She’s not just a meaningless supporting character in the way that many previous Bond films have cast her. Instead, the MI6 boss plays an integral role in this outing; allowing Dench the chance to show off what a truly extraordinary actress she is.

So, can 007 remain relevant in the 21st century? Director Sam Mendes answers the question with a confident ‘yes’, releasing James Bond’s best film yet and an almost perfect example of big-budget blockbuster cinema. Skyfall isn’t just a landmark moment because it celebrates the agent’s Golden Jubilee, but also because it provides a monumental turning point for the franchise. It’s the first step into a new era for 007, one that makes the celebrated hero both culturally and politically significant again. A heart-stopping epilogue, furthermore, paves the way for future adventures that will leave the old formulas behind and continue with the fresh, modern edge displayed in Skyfall. And if they manage to be as good as this, well, then I look forward to James Bond’s next 50 years of service.

DARK SHADOWS - Official Trailer 2012 , Movie , Star cast , Rating

Director Tim Burton brings the cult classic series “Dark Shadows” to the big screen featuring an all-star cast, led by Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter.

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth’s ne’er-do-well brother, Roger Collins, (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger’s precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David’s new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

Burton is directing “Dark Shadows” from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, story by John August and Grahame-Smith, based on the television series created by Dan Curtis. Also producing are Oscar® winner Richard D. Zanuck (“Alice in Wonderland,” “Driving Miss Daisy”), continuing his long association with Burton; Oscar® winner Graham King, (“Rango,” “The Departed”), continuing his collaboration with Depp; Johnny Depp, Christi Dembrowski, and David Kennedy. The executive producers are Chris Lebenzon, Tim Headington, and Bruce Berman.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel, Oscar®-winning production designer Rick Heinrichs (“Sleepy Hollow”), Oscar®-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (“Alice in Wonderland”) and editor Chris Lebenzon (“Alice in Wonderland”). The score is composed by Danny Elfman.

A Warner Bros. Pictures presentation in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, an Infinitum Nihil/GK Films/Zanuck Company production, a Tim Burton film, “Dark Shadows” is slated to open on May 11, 2012, and will be distributed worldwide in theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

New Hollywood Movie Review & Trailer : Safe

Director: Boaz Yakin
Cast: Jason Statham, Catherine Chan, Chris Sarandon, James Hong
Genre: Action
Duration: 1 hour 34 minutes

Story: Mei (Catherine Chan) is wanted by all - the Triads,  the Russian mob, the NYC super and corrupt cops. Why? She has the secret code to the safe. Enter Luke Wright (Jason Statham), her protector and the one who ultimately gets access to the safe.

Movie Review: It's a Jason Statham movie where the actor is once again seen paving his way to victory while sorting the good from the bad.

So no prizes for guessing what lies in store: gun firing in loads and fist fights in aplenty. Add to that some Statham-ism and there's no looking back. Now, how many actors do we have out there who pick up call girls in NYC, pay them plenty of that dollar, get an entry into a sizzling restaurant and ask them to leave immediately.

Or for that matter, how many Medowlands (New Jersey) ex-fighters do we have dressed in an executive suit breaking tracheas of the bad guys. Statham fans, there's enough of the suave in here.

But then, Jason Statham has competition in Safe. And this competition is a pretty tough one for it comes from the little Catherine Chan.

With hardly any dialogues (in English) to herself, Chan actually keeps you asking for more each time she (or Statham) are missing in action.

In fact, it's not just her computerised memory that helps her remember all important bank transactions in the Chinese world, it's her ultimate understanding of the big bad biz world (she excels in distinguishing between good business and the bad one) that takes you by surprise.

The Avengers Movie Reviews , Trailer 2012 - Official movie teaser trailer in HD

Avenger Wall Papper
Director  :  Joss Whedon
Cast        :  Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans,

                  Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner,
                  Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth,
                  Tom Hiddleston
Genre      : Action
Duration   : 2 hours 26 minutes

Story: Global catastrophe is round the corner. And the onus of saving citizens on Earth lies with Nick Fury. But how does he go about it? Time to chalk out a super plan. But then looks like it'll take him something more super than just a plan.

Movie Review: What do you expect when six mighty super heroes - Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk - 'assemble' together on the silver screen for one common purpose? Action unlimited. High voltage drama. Larger-than-life effects. Throw in some smart one liners (humorous, of course) and you maybe in for some push button video gaming fantasy.

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of S.H.I.E.L.D, an international peace keeping agency, goes out of his way to save Planet Earth from impending doom, courtesy Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Loki, of course, is on the look out for the Tesseract, the cube that has all the power to swallow the planet and get its inhabitants to bow before the evil one.

That's when Fury thinks the best way to save Planet Earth is by handing charge to the evergreen power personalities.

And that's precisely when Whedon creates an assembled six-in-one pack - The Avengers - to wage war on screen. Yes, the story is rather simple. But then with testosterone swelling and bullets whizzing here, there, everywhere, we don't mind missing out on a breath-taking script.

The Avengers is not just your typical good versus evil kind of super hero flick. Here, before all scores are settled, it's the good-versus-good hungama that keeps you glued to your seat. Blame it on the big egos of the superstars. After all, they are all super in their own rights, have never worked as a team to ward off evil and never taken instructions from other super guys. Naturally then, fireworks and action cuts are bound to follow.

 Cut to the performances.

Robert Downey Jr's Stark not just delivers his lines with panache in his typical 'playboy' avatar, he keeps the action going-literally - on screen. Chris Evans' Captain America, as always, makes it on time just when you are about to give up on all that mess.

Thor ( Chris Hemsworth) comes across as the perfect brother who is torn between the right and the wrong amidst lightening power and battles. Black Widow's (Scarlett Johansson) mind games leave you simply asking for more.

Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) is once again seen doing what he does best - play around with his bow and arrows. Finally, it's Mark Ruffalo, first spotted in the bylanes of Kolkata, who gives you ample opportunity to clap when he turns into what he calls 'the other guys' (Hulk).

Special mention: Tom Hiddleston who surprisingly stands tall as the bad guy in a group of otherwise good samaritans. So here's what you've got to do: Just settle down with your 3D glasses for some bang-bang stuff where special effects speak louder than guns and the super guys have nothing to fall back on, other than their muscles, reflexes and of course, their super powers.

Movie Review : 'Vicky Donor'

John Abraham’s maiden production Vicky Donor has an interesting enough plot to merit a chance at the box-office.
And though the movie is not being promoted as a musical, the OST does include as many as 8-songs. Apart from the fresh lead pair, Vicky Donor marks the debut of composer duo Abhishek-Akshay. Couple of other artists such as Rochak Kohli, Ayushmann Khurrana, Donn & Bann have also taken part in designing the score of the film.
The album opens with a peppy, situational number titled Rokdaa. Sung by Akshay Verma and Aditi Singh Sharma, it has the increasingly ubiquitous fusion of Bollywood melody and the Indian-Rock sound. But the track benefits from a young vibe that keeps the listener hooked, as long as it lasts.

Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan come together for a saccharine-sweet duet called Mar Jayian. There is a clear Vishal-Shekhar influence thoughout the song…But it in a positive way. Along with the spirited singing, the song also has a nice medley of instruments that provides variation in the mood.
The other version, Mar Jayian Sad by Bann, has an unplugged feel to it, with only a light guitar to back-up the intense vocals. But it is extremely situational in nature; and unlike the previous version it doesn't appeal much in the album.
Pani Da Rang has a smooth Indo-Western fusion that’s further enhanced by the depth of singer Sukanya Purkayshta’s voice. There is a male version too, sung by lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana. He does a neat job of it, but the female version has a certain soothing-quality to it, that makes it score over the more conventional male version. The song's biggest asset is a subtle melody that grows on you after a few listens.

Mika’s Chaddha (supposedly a theme song for one of the characters in the film) & Akshay Verma’s extensively promoted Rum Whiskey are routine, predictable Punjabi numbers, but minus the energy that is so necessary to make these tracks work.
On the whole, producer John Abraham’s movie misses the chart-busters, the actor is so used to. So even though couple of tracks have their heart in the right place, they will depend on the film’s performance, to get noticed. Vicky Donor has a few sparks, but the album falls short of its potential.
